“Introduction to Modern Electronic Warfare Short Course”
Date: Friday, 14 April 2023
Time: Two 3-hour sessions – 0900 – 1200 and 1300 – 1600
Location: Parsons Corporation Secure Conference Room, 6210 Guardian Gateway, Suite 200, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005
Description: This course will begin with defining the scope and provide some historical and current examples of electronic warfare (EW) systems. The topic will then shift to fundamental principles for radar EW to explain key concepts. The next 2 sections will be a data driven, deep dive into airborne self-screening DRFM architectures followed by specific topics related to missile seeker electronic attack. Lab and flight test data will be used to demonstrate the technical considerations required when designing electronic attack or electronic protection systems.
(This course assumes basic radar system knowledge and an interest in understanding airborne radar EA/EP. No existing knowledge of electronic warfare is required, but those with EA/EP background will benefit from the flight and lab data examples collected over several decades of MIT Lincoln Laboratory testing).
